Flea Control

Cat fleaFleas are tiny, laterally flattened, wingless insects that feed upon the blood of their host animals. There are many species of fleas, most of which are named after their preferred hosts, like the cat flea pictured on the right. But most flea species will feed on the blood of any warm-blooded animal -- including humans -- if their favorite hosts aren't available.

Most flea problems occur in homes with pets, especially dogs and cats. Properly treating the animal for fleas is essential to effective flea control, and should preferably be done at or about the same time that the home is being treated. You can arrange with your veteran arian or a pet groomer to have your animals treated at a convenient time.

Fleas also vectors of many serious diseases including murine typhus and bubonic plague. In addition, most cases of tapeworms in children can be traced to their ingesting a flea while playing with a family pet.

Fleas are also difficult to treat, but have no worries. At Rid-A-Critter, we approach flea extermination with the same obsession for quality that drives everything we do, and we back our work with the best warranty in the business.
