Occasional Invaders and Perimeter Pest Control

Sowbug"Occasional invaders" is kind of a catch-all name applied to the various crawling critters that get into homes and other buildings from time to time. Some of the major players in the group include sowbugs, pillbugs (what the kids call "roly-poly bugs"), earwigs, centipedes, millipedes, box elder bugs, clover mites, and many others. Most of these insects and arthropods are harmless, but they are annoying, and a few can stain walls or cause other minor damage.

The best way to control occasional invaders is to properly maintain the outside of your home. Organic mulches should be removed, inverse grading situations corrected, firewood stored far away from the house, and so forth. When needed, judicious application of an insecticide can help prevent the remaining bugs from getting into your home.

Rid-A-Critter provides perimeter control of occasional invaders as part of our regular pest control plans, or as a stand-alone service. For more information or to set up an appointment with one of our professionals, please contact our office.
